Thought I would post these pictures as I haven't seen a lot of these tires posted on the forum. I had these mounted today on my JLU Sahara. For those that have them on their list of possibilities, this is how they look on my Jeep (your results may vary lol).

How do you like those Dick Cepek tires? They’ve been around a fair while and they’re the only one Mickey Thompson kept around.

So far so good. It's funny you mention Dick Cepek tires. I first looked at these last year when they were still "Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP" and got a quote for the same size tires as what I put on and they were around $50 or so cheaper. Between the name change and inflation, they went up quite a bit. Dick Cepek tires have been owned by Mickey Thompson for a while now, it wasn't suprising they discontinued the line but kept a few of the tires in their portfolio.

and Cooper owns both Mickey Thompson and Dick Cepek.

and Goodyear just bought Cooper last summer.

that said, i'm very happy so far with my Mickeys, and hope yours end up working out well for you!

Can't wait to get my Mickeys mounted up, that said, w/ gas as high as it is I haven't been driving the JL much so I'm still running my Patagonias :(

At least Coopers were bought by an American company, It would be very sad if all these great tires end up coming out of some China plant :(

seems like everyone makes everything everywhere.

from one source:
Goodyear makes its tires in 48 manufacturing facilities located in 21 countries around the world, seven of those plants are located in the United States. Some of the countries where Goodyear manufactures tires include China, Venezuela, Mexico, France, England, Thailand, Taiwan, and others.

for giggles, check out 'anyonecanwriteanythingtheywantpeidia':
Goodyear facilities

as far as the product goes, it's about the companies Quality Control more than where they're made.
i won't get into the politics here.

Heard a similar timeline when I asked my tire guy about the Baja Boss A/Ts in 35s. Said they could get 3 tires here pretty quickly, it would be a wait for the last 2.
