I am wanting to get some MT Baja Boss all-terrain tires and they seem to just come in STD, XL, or E load range. This will be my daily driver and start to explore off-roading, so moderate trails no rock crawling. How harsh are they in E load to drive daily? With it being a 95% daily driving vehicle should I focus on std or xl and just forget E altogether? They do also seem to have a few random D range also. I’m wanting to stay within 33-35 inch tires using 17 inch wheels.

where are you looking?

according to the Mfrs website, 33x12.5/17 and 35-12.5/17s are both Load Range D.
Baja Boss A/Ts

when i had 35s, they were Mickey BB M/Ts in a Load Range D. the ride was great, and they worked well for me. i'm looking forward to getting another set.

I saw those in D range I was mainly looking at the 285s and 295s. I was hoping for not as wide of a tire. I really want to get MT tires but the sizes I would prefer are either std or E. I am almost just going to get the std since it is my daily. I was open to M/T instead of the a/t version but I can get snow and lots of rain where I’m at so I imagine I should go a/t instead.

I wish they made the Baja Boss or Legend EXP in 35 x 11.5 in load C or D. I buy them….

I have been running MT BB A/T 315/70r17 (load range E) for a while now. The tires have performed exceptionally well on and off road, they just make for a pretty rough ride. I would buy MT BB again but will definitely stay away from the E range next time around.

I'm running the 315-70-17 Load Range E Mickeys and I don't find them harsh at all. I think that my Fox Shocks help make the street ride possible and better than the factory shocks.
I'm running my Mickeys on Method 106 Beadlocks and on the street at 37 psi and 15 psi off-road.

I loved the performance of the E load 295/70/18 BB AT but with the next set of tires, the budget was lower. I tried the Kenda Klever RT 610’s. I drove them over 10k miles and did trails in those too. The difference was they were D load. They rode a little better. They were pizza cutters at 35x10.5R17 with another set of stock Rubicon wheels. The BBAT’s were just a bit better in the rain but otherwise, I saw no performance loss. They both saw many street miles, saw rock, mud, gravel, dirt. The Klevers do pick up and sling gravel a little more though. Great tire.

OK; wasn’t clear you were looking at Metrics or narrow when you referenced 33s & 35s.

I am with you on that. They have a 295/70r17 that I would buy but again E load. They stay on opposite ends of load range. Hell even if they made more XL load range in the sizes I want I would get those, slight step up from std.

Not trying to hijack the thread. Anyone have the new Baja Boss XS tires? I'm super interested in them.

@SK9638 curious what you ultimately wound up with. I just went through the same on 285/70/17 Baja Boss A/Ts. 17x9 rims on a 2018 JLU Sahara. Being it had std load tires I ultimately decided to stick with them. Dirt roads, some fire trails and on road snow are all I do. The old 255/70/18s were fine with this and since they were SL I went that route for the Mickeys. Daily driver and does 50 mile commute weekdays. That was a big factor.

Started at 35psi cold but outer edges didn’t seem to contact so just dropped to 32psi and will see if that’s any better.
