So I'm going to be starting the process of installing the long arm lift from Metalcloak and some SDI E-Click shocks and E-Link here soon. After going down a rabbit hole or two, I feel like I need to go buy some new air cutters and tools to install this long arm kit. I'll be doing this on a diesel JLU and I can't wait. If any one has any recommended tools or tips feel free to send them my way, I'll need it.

Can't wait to hear how you like that combo. Feel free to call me at the office if you run into any issues.

It took me 3 weekends to complete the install. That was in my garage using jack stands, no automotive lift, and no plasma cutter. The factory control arm removal is by far the most miserable part of the installation!

If you have an air compressor, I highly recommend looking into an inexpensive plasma cutter. It will make removing the factory control arm brackets so much easier. Otherwise, an angle grinder with several cut off wheels and flap discs and a Dremel or die grinder with cut off wheels will be needed. An air chisel came in handy as did a couple of fiberglass welding blankets to keep the sparks from blowing all over the areas you don't want them.

Be patient and take your time as it's very easy to cut your fame, fuel lines, and the wiring harness so plan on it taking at least twice as long, if not longer than you think it will. If you have any questions, feel free to message me on here. Good luck!

I'm definitely picking up a bigger air compressor and going to look at some small cutting wheels or tools for the compressor off the bat. Going to see what space I have to work with.

Look at bandfile belt sanders. You will kill several belts but you can grind the welds off with them and its clean.

Cheap option and grab a stack of belts.

I'm defently looking forward to the lift getting in. I'll be doing 3.5 for the front and 4.5 for the rear. Have sag in the rear of my jeep already from the gear in the rear. Will I need to adjust the rear a little cause of the extra height?

You will still want to set it as a 3.5" kit. Think of it as an HD 3.5.

I was thinking of it like a Rocklander long arm.
