Someone actually got pulled over for that? Damn.

How many years had you been driving without one in states that require it? For me in CO it's been all of my vehicles since '05. I've been pulled over "a few" times and it's never been mentioned.

It's just a fine here. No points / insurance hit.
That’s because CO doesn’t enforce having current tags or even having license plates.

I got pulled over in CO for it once between Montrose and Ouray. I got a warning. That’s the only thing I was pulled over for.

Funny thing is I typically had a front license plate on that Jeep, but I had done some winching the day before and forgot to put the front plate back on.

back when i lived in CT i didn’t run a front plate on a camaro i had and never got any trouble about it but i also lived on a rural area where i guess they didn’t care much. even when they pulled me over they didn’t mention the front plate (i had it in the backseat). i heard the inner city cops were getting after people about it but i never had any problems.

i also ran a truck with the front and rear plates in the windshields and never got any flak for it.

now i live in florida. problem solved.

Finally happened, TX State Trooper pulled me over for no front license plate but thankfully just gave me a warning. I need to get a front license plate bracket and have been looking at the Maximus 3 Stealth bracket.

My question is has anyone ever run in to a problem with the police saying that the license plate isn't displayed properly using this bracket? It sits real low and not sure how visible it is so wasn't sure if that would cause problems.
A photo of your front bumper might help with some other suggestions. I drilled and tapped (2) 1/4" holes. It sets a little low but haven't had any issues so far.

I am a retired hobbyist. Over the last 4+ years I have made hundreds of front license plate brackets for a few different model vehicles.. Everything from simple small holders that only hold a plate by the top 2 screws to full size brackets that offer full plate protection with 4 plate screws. My latest version is a fairlead cover bracket made for those that do not run a winch (mounts thru the 2 fairlead mounting holes). I just did a mockup for the new Bronco and recently had one installed on a new 2022 Grand Cherokee. The full sized are grade 6061 machined, tongue and groove fitted, assemblies. These are solid flush mount. They are 100% hidden behind the license plate for a super clean look. They are height adjustable from 0-1.5" by rotating 180°. I only use stainless assembly, mounting and license plate attaching hardware. These are industrial strength, flex free and very budget friendly. I only make a few a couple of times per year however I am looking to step up and broaden my portfolio. For those that use the fairlead for a winch you would most likely need to drill 2 mounting holes. In this case this bracket would also work on the rear bumper. I provide all hardware as well as 2 rubber isolators to prevent bumper paint damage. There are 2 mounting options. Drill 2 small holes and use #12 or #14 sheet metal screws or drill 2 larger holes and use the 1/4"-20 machine screws, flat washers, lock washers and nuts. For $35 you get both hardware packages and FREE USPS Priority shipping. All are fully hand polished and acetone prepped (for paint if desired). Personally I think this is a steal for the price. Nobody in the world makes anything similar and these have years of safe automatic carwashes to prove their durability. Just wanted to share this option. Holes can be added to accommodate a preferred mount location.

Wow, that looks great. Wish I had seen this sooner. Felt like I needed to pull the trigger on something sooner than later. Pulled the trigger on the Maximus.

I am not trying to compete with anyone. Just want people to know there are other options available. I look at eBay, and other sites, and cannot believe what people are paying. I see people paying over $35 for cheap plastic brackets. Granted I put a lot of labor into things that I make but I am certainly not getting rich. It is a small supplement to my retirement. I have a home machine shop and I hate seeing machines just sitting idle. Making 2 or 3 dozen a year is ok for me however I would like to make these for more vehicles. At some point I would probably go up a couple of dollars in price to make some profit and cover tooling costs. For now just want to get these seen by more people. Getting my QuikFix™ brand exposure is always good. I spent most of the past 4 years making and selling a unique style of Toyota and Ford seat lifting spacers. The Chinese have stolen USA designs and taken over that market. 197 out of the current 200 eBay seat spacer sellers are based in China. I am hoping to recover some business by expanding my license plate bracket base. I appreciate the compliment. Positive feedback has always been my biggest promoter of sales.
