Does anyone know what this little bracket does? It does not move at all when I move the shifter or t case shifter. Noticed it as I was putting my new t case in and it was blocking my from putting in a bolt. Not sure how I got the bolt out without loosening it. I had to move it a bit to get the bolt it.

It’s only connected by that bottom nut
