Ok so if I get them off and install the new ones what is the proper ft/lbs to torque them to? I think I read somewhere a while back "as tight as you can get them" on the JL. is that 140 ft/lbs?

190, which I believe is closer to “as f’n tight as you can get them”

My impact (700 ft-lbs) Wouldn‘t break the nut loose but when I held the nut with a wrench and put the impact on the bolt, it came right off.
Exactly my experience. You need to hold the other side to break it free.
