I have been experiencing a loud rattling noise. Comes and goes. Dealer has dismantle the exhaust system as well as a few other components. Now they are dismantling the top end of the engine. Going on 2 weeks at the dealer on this third visit. Dealer reports that this problem has been reported internally with jeep yet very little suggested have been made from the manufacture other than keep taking things a a part. Anyone else having this experience?

Are you talking about the rattling that sometimes comes from the wastegate actuator shaft? Surely, they would have looked there first? Is it only while the engine is running or at any times?

Thanks for the response. the rattling only occurs occasionally at idle. They dealer called me this afternoon and said they had a jeep engineer involved and the narrowed it down to a tensioner rod. I 'll pass on the info you just shared with me.
Thanks.

Cool if they found the thing that is actually the issue. It you get it back and its still doing it, just put your finger on the wastegate actuator and see if the rattling stops. Obviously, it goes without saying to not do that if it is hot or you will get burned.

Any idea which tensioner rod?
I was at the dealer today for an inspection. Asked again about the recent repair. Actually he (new guy) meant to a timing chain chain tensioner instead of tensioner rod.

Oh that makes way more sense. Also a little concerning ?
