@Terrymo Thanks for the great picture! Is that a frame mounted front LCA skidplate? I want to do something for the fronts at least as they got pretty beat up too. Did you install and cut the old pipe while still mounted in your Jeep?

BTW, friend had an early Buick Grand National with the turbo v6 and the early 80s Buick odd-fire v6s were more desirable than the later even fire because they made more power. I'm not doing this mod for power, just don't want to smash expensive stuff if it's avoidable...sometimes less is more. Trying to keep my Jeep lighter weight too, so cutting things off helps too lol.
Turbo Buicks were all even fire. Odd fire ended in the late 70’s. Exhaust scavenging will be better on an even fire than an odd fire giving it a performance advantage.

Many things on the JL are mpg and money related and not necessarily what the engineers would choose left to their own devices. Not saying thats the case in this instance. Just that the reply we hear often that “the engineers knew what they were doing I’m not changing it“ isn’t necessarily how things come to be,
