bought a GPS/SIRIUS antenna from Nismopar for 95 even they shipped it fast. I installed it today and now my GPS works and now can do XM. I installed it in stock location and watched the infotainment video on how to do it.

Yeah, I'm not necessarily defending UConnect, either. It's just a real shame there isn't a company here that can do a nice solid aftermarket radio with a decent UI and some kind of backend support. At the end of the day, your options aren't what's the best alternative, but what's the least shittiest.
yeah! I agree there are a couple nice units out there but there is always something missing, compared to the 8.4. Either this or that doesn't work etc. It would be great if there was something available to replace the 8.4 and everything performed the options as the 8.4. They keep trying but I'll be dead before they get it right or becomes obsolete . lol.

Still satisfied after a year?
I'm looking at a used 8.4 for my 2019 JL.

Yes, I’m still satisfied with the radio. I do not drive a lot only in the spring and summer. If you do buy used radio, make sure to get the antitheft code. If you can’t get one try 8497 that was for the one I put in and then the one I took out if someone was to buy that it was the same code. I did buy the terra acoustics speakers for the front. They sound pretty good expensive though.

Mo screen mo problems, is there a specific feature of the 8.4 you are looking for that the 7 does not have?

The phone is probably better for navigation.

No no special function. I use awireless android auto for navigation but at the parking lot when Im waiting for my wife and play Netflix, every inch up counts :)

I went from 5” to 7” to 8.4. The reason for the 8.4 was due to the tiny carplay screen on the 7”. The 7” worked fine with an $8 amazon gps antennna, but the 8.4 seems to require the oem one to work. Tried an amazon one but it doesn’t work well. It seems it messes up CarPlay navigation too without the gps

uConnect is absolutely worthless software. I am looking to trade my Sahara for another Silverado, soon....because of it.
It's absolutely horrible, compounded by the cost of the unit, nothing is worse than if the unit fails, you are forced to buy this junk again.

You can get them fairly cheap from online junkyards. Bought my 8.4 out of a low mileage 2023 for around $400. Definitely better than what infotainment or dealerships charge
