Anyone have experience with RSE or LOD prematurely rusting in wintery salty road climates? Michigan DOT loves to use excessive salt on the roads.
I have some LOD destroyers on the way. I will run them this winter with the harsh road chemicals here. In the spring if they are rusting, I will take them off and get them blasted and covered with truck bed liner, or powder coated!

I ended up going with the HDX drop nerf step. Hope to have time to install this weekend. Thanks for all the pics.

Installed my Rock Slide steps today. Installation was pretty straightforward & helps to have an extra set of hands around (the steps are pretty meaty). Appearance - look pretty good but they are fairly substantial compared to some of the non-electric setups. But they perform very well - the step projects at a good angle that does really help entry/exit. The real test will happen in the morning when my 5 year old climbs in but I do expect it to make a huge difference for him. I right now do not need a step but I could also see them helping me out too when the Jeep grows here over the next couple of months. I’ll post up some better pics tomorrow after finishing up the lights, door delete kit, and guards.

Were the body bolts a bear to get out, and did you mount the brackets on top of the washer or between the washer and the bolt head? I saw where a guy knocked the threads off that keeps the washer from sliding down the bolt so he could mount between the bolt head and washer. Nothing to do with the actual threads of the bolt on the other end that goes into the body nuts

The RSE steps can be purchased with or without an extra slider guard right? I dont quite understand that part.

Yes, that's for those who are planning to play in the rocks a lot.

It is Rock Slide Engineering's way of offering a step for most people that isn't overly built (heavy) and offering a solution for those that need both a HD slider and steps.

I wouldn't worry about the RSE skid plates for most trail duties, but if you're planning on hitting the Rubicon or other harder tails where you are thrashing the sliders, definitely get the skid plates.

Between the washer & the head of the bolt

I installed these Deegan 38 step sliders the other day I’ve had them for a long time i was going to put them on my EcoDiesel but never got around to it. Seem as good as factory but with a step

If I could, I would install the 2018 JK Rubicon Recon's rails I had (Mopar), but they were only made for the JK recon. So I yanked the Mopar steel step from my 2021 JL Rubicon and had it installed on the 392 right before I traded it in. I still don't think anyone makes better-looking minimalistic rails/steps than Mopar's OEM.

Where can I find these? I've looked longer than I care to admit. I installed the drop nerf steps and I hate them. Don't think I can handle a drop step, just need a wider step at the door. These would be perfect.

Would you mind measuring from the ground to the step? I am getting a 4xe Rubicon and am considering the LOD Destroyer to help my vertically challenged wife. (Of course, I’ll likely use them also.)

Those were ordered with my 2021 custom Rubicon order (not 392). I then transferred them to the 2023 392. They were not an option to order with a 392
