Did you run the wires between the fuse box and battery or off to the outside of the battery? I have a tray that covers the space between the fuse box and the firewall and then there's the battery tray. Between the fuse box and battery is a cover plate covering a wire loom, maybe the wires to the aux battery. Can you take a picture of the area where you ran your wires so I can compare my setup under the hood.
This is what worked for me… comes up near firewall.

Awesome, thanks. I found that opening yesterday where you ran your wires. I was hoping it would be close enough to make the connections.

Sure no problem.

like I mentioned above, the 10mm bolt and wire clamp they included for frame rail is not needed. I needed a few inches of slack so just zip tied rse harness to factory harness on top of rail.

Question for you guys/gals that have installed the RS Engineering Steps Gen 3 - how sturdy are the actual steps that retract? On video (to me anyway), they look somewhat "thin" or flimsy. Just want to make sure they are sturdy enough before I plunk down the money for these.

Thanks!

Where did you place the front and rear door sensors? The installation instructions show the wrong location for each door. Also did you notice any sensor wires getting pinched when you reinstalled the trim pieces?

yes the instructions are wrong.

the wire isnt really pinched enough to cause any issues. Heres pics of front and rear. Use masking tape to make sure your magnets are aligned before perm attachment.

I just did my armor kit as well it was a PIA to align holes… came up w a better way to install if you are going to do that as well.

First two pics are front.

One more question… what happens when you go doorless? Is there an override of some type to turn step deployment off?

I went with the amp research extremes this time. I had gen 1 RSE and they were great and no issues on my JK but I’m looking for a more refined look this time. I HOPE I’m not kicking myself in the ass after waiting 20 weeks for them. If my 392 XR finally gets here and I have to wait more than a month I might cancel and go back to RSE.
The extremes have a good look to them and do a much better job of hiding the pinch seam than the other models

I love the look of the amp research (similar clean look as the RBP) but I dont think they have any rating for damage right? The RSE, even without the skid plate over it, should have better slider capability, according to random stuff I've been reading.
