Who's doing long arms this winter? We've got a build coming up that can't decide between the RT3 and the metalcloack Lock-N-Load!

Teraflex:

Metalcloak:

I have the Metalcloack lock-n-load with the rear long-arms.

If I had to do it again, I'd go with the 4-link long arms. Articulation is just as good and you don't have to mess with tightening and loosening the radius-arm lock-n-load shock every time.

Also, don't go with the DB3 drop brackets. They catch on everything. Just bite the bullet and do the long arms.

Overall very happy with the performance - articulation is definitely not my limiting factor these days.

The low hanging rear brackets on the MC long arm are what got me looking for a design that had more clearance. I saw an Evo long arm that had the brackets along the side of the frame. But it was a weld-on kit. I ended up ordering the Artec bolt-on, but the tech said it should be welded as well.

Each morning I get up and come to this forum with anticipation thinking today is the day! Today is the day I get to see a write up with many many pics of your Artec long arm install. Maybe tomorrow will be that day.

I just added a full RK 3.5 Adventure X lift. If I went to long arms right now you might see my wife being interviewed on one of those homicide shows saying, he just left one day and I can’t imagine what could have happened to him.
Yeah, someday I'm going to end up under the new patio my wife has been wanting.

Yup - valid concern. Long arm brackets don't hang as low as the DB3 but still stick out. Easier to manage since it's closer to the center of the Jeep and as long as you can get the obstacle on the lower control arm you can slide along that.

I’m running the Rock Krawler X Factor X2 long arm kit with my MetalCloak springs and track bars. Love the high clearance bent control arms. I’d much rather miss the hang up altogether than slid on low hanging arms and brackets.

Tell me about it. I love threads like this, because it's all my Jeep dreams, summed up into one very large $30,000 purchase! :involve:
We're more than happy to make those dreams come true for you! Even if it's a slow build over time we will make it happen.
