LOD Rear Bumper - parking sensor false trigger problems

Has anyone figured out a way that’s actually worked to stop or minimize the parking sensor false trigger beeps after installing the LOD destroyer rear bumper?

I had a reputable Jeep garage install them and look at this issue twice and say there’s nothing they can do. So, I’ve been weighing the choice of either accepting that I’ve lost the use of my parking sensors (disabling it) by buying this bumper or living with a bunch of extra beeps now. I wish I had come across another thread that had some posts mid way through it about this before buying to at least be aware.

Following up with LOD afterwards, they said I should have seen their video that references the false triggers that’s embedded in the installation instructions area of their website before buying and said my option was for me to pay to ship it back with a 25% restock fee. not a real option.

I’ve been getting false triggers even without the spare tire on back. Any help??

Comes and goes for me. Sometimes I don't get them (false alarms) and most of the time it goes off all the time. I can't wait for a resolve but not holding my breath.

I'm having a problem. About 20% of the time the left sensor is activated, but nothing behind the Jeep. I think (maybe) it is associated with the Jeep bumper sitting in the sun. I haven't had time to try to adjust them. I installed them per the instructions with the connector towards the center of the bumper.

I’ve turned off my sensors all together and am trying that out.

Make sure the shop aligned them per the direction LoD provides. Make sure they are fully seated in the holes. Stock mine would false fairly often but still usable. Now they false more often but I feel like I have some tweaking I can still do and my tire is mounted way down low so that may not be helping either.

I was just going to purchase it because their video (posted in January '19) makes it look like there is no issue...guess I'll still wait...

I randomly get false triggers and I have the stock plastic bumper. I’m not saying there isn’t a issue with aftermarket bumpers.

Electronics are sometimes buggy. I am sure I’m not alone with the false alarms on the stock bumper. Maybe a sensor got slightly tweaked during install?

I’ve read they might be kinda delicate. Maybe it’s just crappy FCA quality control from their Mexico or China vendor?

Please update as new info comes out. I’d love to upgrade both my bumpers soon but on the wait and see bus due to the increase in these false alarms on aftermarket bumpers.

My sensors never had false triggers with the stock bumpers for over a year, until the LOD rear bumper was installed. Started happening immediately.

I have learned to simply keep the sensors disabled. Live and learn on buying decisions.

What did LOD tell you to do about this? Did you call them?

I did. I called from the garage that installed it as we were brainstorming what to do to address it. LOD said it was a “known issue” and there was a video on their website about it. I later found it buried in the installation instructions page of their website. They also said I had no recourse other than to pay for shipping back to them (on very heavy bumper) and pay a restocking fee. I had also talked to them a few times before buying and this issue never came up. The tone after purchase was confrontational.

Did anyone ever figure iut a solution? I think its the spare tire triggering the sensors

I had good luck with a little trial and error work. Rotating the sensors while testing the alarming each time. This was on my 21 392 with the destroyer rear carrier. The 2 outer sensors were the easiest to adjust and get them to clear. The 2 center sensors were the hardest to find the sweet spot. I’m sure adjusting/rotating the sensors decreased there effectiveness, but at least they did not alarm all the time and gave some level of protection. I got a 24 392 now with the same LOD bumper. I have not played with it to adjust. I just have them off.
