Hello all,

New here and to owning a Jeep. Getting started with my overland build on my JLUR, more specifically installing a lift and tires.

To the point - anyone in the SoCal area that would have the knowledge, time and resources to assist and teach someone starting out how to do it right? I'm fine with paying a shop to do it but thought it would be better if I got some hands on and learned something along the way.

Cheers!

I have 2 (maybe 2 1/2 :)) of these things and might be able to help. Where in SoCal are you located and which lift are you planning to install?

Haha that's a good start. I'm in Huntington Beach, so not far from you. As far as which kit. I've nearly narrowed it down and will order hopefully in the next day or two. Was originally set on Teraflex 3.5" but now I think Clayton 2.5" looks like a pretty solid kit. Plan on 37s as well.

I highly recommend doing it yourself if you have some handyman skills, basic tools and desire to learn. I did my Mopar 2" lift in the garage watching the YT videos and following the manual. Yes, it took 2 days, but all torque values have been carefully checked and the springs went into correct corners. Rides great and I understand much better now how the JLUR suspension works. ?

Agreed, watched the YouTube videos and that was when I figured I would give it a shot. And would be nice to get familiar with everything under the Jeep. Thanks for the tip!

Im in corona, i can possibly help, day dependant. Do you have all the floor jacks and jack stands? 12 ton jack stands make it a hell of a lot easier just a tip, you can jack it up super high

Sounds good, looking forward to it. Thanks again for all your help.
Hey Corey, I'm over here in the Inland Empire and retired, so I have an open schedule. I helped my buddy put the Mopar 2" lift on his JLUR and then I did my own Mopar on my JLR. I have all the tools needed, pretty sure, to get the job done. If you want just hit me up on a PM.

I am in Long Beach, and I could chip in some help depending on the timing. I installed my own lift as well.
