Although I hate to admit it, I lived in Florida for 15 years. Couldn't get much further south without living on a key. Had a lot of cars (including convertibles), all leather and no regrets.

I lived in Florida and now in Phoenix. I hate the feeling of sweaty skin on leather, I would hold out if I were you.

Just carry a couple of towels. Drape one over the drivers seat and one over the steering wheel.
Or purchase a sun shade.

I lived in Miami for over 25 years and owned several convertibles with leather seats while living there. I would always put a towel on the seats because the leather would get way too hot for my back and thighs when I got in the car after leaving the top down for a few hours. It’s one of the reasons I didn’t opt for leather in my JLUR.

You can get the leather and if it’s too hot during the summer months, just put some seat covers or a towel on the seats and you’ll be fine.
