2018 Jeep Wrangler JL with 3k miles constant knocking noise coming from engine bay. Looked underneath and could see a pully that appears wobbly. Not sure if the noise is normal

Owners manual says some knocking at idle is normal. Don’t know about the wobbly pulley. Might be an indication of a larger problem.

STOP driving it and have it towed in to dealer.

I believe the owner’s manual calls it pinging. Look it up. I’m currently not in the same state as my Jeep or I would find it for you.

It's not much of a ping sounds more like when you do a snapping noise with your tongue but continuous

So I took it to the dealer today they had it for four hours and just how I expected the service tech could not duplicate the noise i guess he compaired lit with another jeep lol yeah ok. I went in furious 4 hours to tell me that , I asked to speak with the tech but of course not available show me the jeep that was compaired couldn't find it lol. At this point I'm loosing it I had the service manager , assistant manager a tech and the girl from the service counter all outside. They listened to my jeep and all were able to hear the continues knocking coming from the bottom of the jeep. The service manager stated that the noise is definitely not normal and brought another jeep to listen to it and WOW no noise. Again he agreed that it's not normal and wants my jeep on Monday to remove timing cover and so forth. I also have the metal clicking from front tire which again 4 hours later the tech couldn't duplicate. I in return duplicated the noise in less then 30 seconds. Should of seen tthere faces.
I guess the tech drove it with the windows up music turned on and ac going .. smh

People in New Mexico dont get 87. 86 is the lowest. I guess they use mid grade with no added benefit.

I am in Colorado. 85 here. Have run my RZR, 11 CRV, and my 17 Pilot on 85 at this altitude, 7,700ft, and not a single issue. Yes at lower altitudes, 87 is the norm, but up high, the computer understands there is no o2 here, so 85 works just fine.

In a campground with probably 20 jeeps. One Cj, several TJ'S and a bunch of JK's. All run 85 at this altitude.
