The original Mud Terrain's were pretty quiet and were in production for many years before changes. The introduction of the KM2 saw a better tread pattern, stronger sidewall, bead protector and louder noise. The KM3 addressed the noise.
I would sell them while you can and find Rubicon take-offs. P285-75-17 KO2. They will fit with no modification to your Willys and may even provide a better driving experience for you.
The Willys Sport comes with the KM2, the Willys has the Firestone M/T2.
