JLU Sport-S Grille Replacement

So, I test drove a Willy’s prior to deciding on my Sport-S, but couldn’t shake the cool look of the black grille on white body.

Did some research and bought the satin black grille and separate trim pieces from Mopar.

Looked pretty good, but I got to thinking to myself, self, what if you had the trim pieces painted white?? I think that’s a great idea said me.

So, I took everything off and put the stock back on and drove on down to the body shop. $215 later I had some beautiful white trim pieces.

got home and took off the stock and reassembled the new grill with the white trim pieces and I’m really happy with the look!

Looks great! One of the reasons we were so drawn the the Willys is because of the contrast in color with the grill. I can understand why you felt the “need” to have the black grill!

The black grille looks great with certain colors. Personally I hate that the Willys has it stock as it makes mine less unique. I’m starting to see them every where now.

I dig the look of the black grille with the trim painted body color. The shape of the grille makes it look like something isn't right when the edge is black.

Question for you - I'm trying to figure this out for a friend's JLU... Do you need to buy the trim pieces? I'm wondering what they are replacing because when I take the grill off there isn't any pieces that I'm removing on the side...

Yes, you do need the trim piece on a JLU Sport.
