I am wanting to upgrade my speakers on my soundbar. I am having trouble deciding which to get. I just want to hear the sound better with the roof off. Not looking for something over the top. Any advice?

I installed the Kenwood Excelon speakers (I do not have the Alpine audio upgrade). Much improved and plenty loud. Installed about 4 years ago and no issues. Easy install.

Kicker KS series is also a good budget option. Silk tweeters sound better to me and are less fatiguing. For the soundbar specifically there are options that can add 6.5" or 6x9" speakers without cutting up the factory bar. At least I am sure about the 6.5", the 6x9 might still need alterations.

2nd that these are fantastic as well as using Audio Uprising for the fronts. Great pairing with the Alpine

While I have not personally heard the Audio Uprising upgrades, they do look nice and I have heard owners say that they sound great.

https://audiouprising.com/collections/jeep-wrangler-jl-dash-speaker-upgrades $250

These are the Kickers that I ended up upgrading the dash with (drop in) as well as the 3.5" in the Alpine soundbar.

https://www.crutchfield.com/S-98c96kp57SF/p_20651KSC35/Kicker-KSC350.html $80

I linked to Crutchfield since they will come with the required Metra adapters and the pricing is still on par with them included vs buying elsewhere. Since you do not have the Alpine upgrade you will be working with not a low of power to the speakers, so you could also consider either Infinity or Hertz 3.5" as they have higher sensitivity ratings.

For the dash, with either option, it is suggested to add a small handful of polyfill underneath and around the speaker to primarily help with midbass/range (what little there is from a 3.5") Using these in the soundbar the situation was a bit different. It is a tight squeeze and barely any polyfill will fit behind the 3.5".

If the Jeep ('19 JLU w/ Alpine) was my daily (the wife's) I would certainly go the 6.5" route with the no-cut adapters along with an external amp and DSP. While I like 6x9s I do not think that location and space is ideal, perhaps only personal preference.

Good luck and enjoy the process!
