So I’m watching the news this morning, and there’s a big news event down under, and they’re doing all of these drone shot/footage and I don’t see a single Wrangler.

Footage in my area of the Heartland of that many vehicles would show dozens of Wranglers.

I remember back in the Crocodile Hunter days, there were always cool Looking Toyota pickups and stuff in the Outback, and I’m sure Land Rover has a presence down there, but I wonder.

Does the Wrangler have a dealership system in place in Australia?

A 2 door Sport S price starts in the mid $70k Australian dollars and for a 2 door Rubicon about $80k They used to sell about 30,000 Wranglers a year but are down to about 4-5,000 per year. $70,000 Aussie dollars is about $46,500 US dollars.

My wife and I spent about 3 months in Australia a while back and I don’t remember seeing any Wranglers. They have a lot of Nissan and Toyota type pickups which are called utes (utility). The Aussies do not talk in full words, Aussie English is a tough language to learn LOL.

They have some. Went there this past summer. Land Rovers and Toyotas are more popular, but still more Jeeps than I see in the UK. One country I've oddly seen a lot of Jeeps in is Greece, they outnumber Land Rovers and Toyotas by a decent amount.

Couple of the Aussie Jeeps I saw:

Up until about two years ago, Toyota offered the Australian market a SFA Manual Transmission V8 Diesel with 1990s level emissions equipment on it. I am a Jeep fan but would have bought the Land Cruiser had those options been available in the US market. Just saying.

It depends on your intended usage. Those 79 series were marketed more to the agricultural crowd. They are tough and reliable. But they take quite a bit to get it up to a stock Jeep offroad capability. ie, they don’t flex at all. The rear axles are narrower than the fronts.
Additionally, they STARTED at something like $75k for a base single cab. Then $100k for double cab utes.

In Australia, but not a Jeep. (Don’t know why it’s so clean, though.)

Jeep Wanabee in Japan (Did see one or two actual Jeeps in Kyoto.)

I was in Sidney, Brisbane, and Melbourne in January and saw very few Wranglers. I looked up the pricing and understood why. There were LOTS of 4-door 4WD compact pickups -- Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Fords mainly. There are still a small contingent of used 'ute fans which were cool to see. (A modern day El Camino.) The Holden (GM) 'ute was the coolest and was available until 2017 when GM shut Holden down.

Is there like a model number or something I can file away in the brain bank to think about importing in 30 years?

While I like my Wrangler Im not sure I would buy one in a Asia/Australia market.

70 Series Toyota Landcruiser. Toyota has been making these since the 80s and been making refreshes since through today. 45 year production span, and still going, means there are apparently a lot of specs that have been offered.
