Spending $1200 to diagnose a problem and have it repaired, only to find out it was a $20 part that takes 10 minutes to swap? Jeep thing.
Maybe two years ago, I spent >$200 to try to fix a problem that was eventually solved with a $3 washer.

I was annoyed twice over: once by the absence of this known maintenance issue being mentioned in the Service Manual, and again by the allegedly experienced parts man who, having heard a full explanation of the problem, uttered not a syllable about the aforementioned washer being the solution. He was just happy to sell me something that I didn't need. Just by happenstance did a fellow owner eventually get wind of my issue, and mention the solution.

That was on one of the motorcycles. So, it's not just a Jeep Thing.

Exactly. Keep the creature comforts, keep things separate, and dump the useless garbage. The HVAC system should also be separate and physical controls only. Most of the vehicle settings never get looked at, or they are set once and forgotten. Gauges belong in the dash, not as a page on a screen.
It's real fun to try to figure out what temp the AC is on while this is happening. The video is short, had to edit cause a name popped up, but the screen just keeps resizing.

No one on these forums are driving away from a 800lb bear,
The bear is symbolic of the 800lb issue chasing Jeep that they can't seem to shake:

I fly da plane...
I loved all my Jeeps. I've had some great times in them. I brought my two sons home in a Jeep. I drove them to and from base through four decades. It made me very happy to see my Jeep sitting alone in the parking lot when I returned from combat. The same one that my friends and I jumped in to celebrate being assigned to a fighter squadron. Most of all though I can remember my friends in all sorts of cars, and I in my CJ, making loops around town on Saturday nights. A dozen cars parking in front of the lumber yard and going out to the bar pits. I remember a brunette in the passenger seat of my CJ. Moonlight in her eyes. That will always be a Jeep thing to me.

Just my opinions which nobody cares about

Driving too fast toward a blind corner on a shelf road…not a Jeep thing
Lifting your hand all the way off the steering wheel for a Jeep Wave…also not
Yeah, I'm thinking: If that person rolls up the trail like that with me coming the other way, either one of us is going to get killed or they're going to get the "not the jeep wave" (or both).

It might be good. But it'll never be as good as the greatest advertisement ever made.

Simple, "Men Of Few Words" commercial, Bold, Confident and Adventurous as hell. That commercial was a mike drop to all would be pretenders to the Jeep throne. BTW I was in advertising and marketing since 1977, and worked on many car brands including BMW, Toyota, Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, Land Rover, Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Automotive is a hard business to get right but this spot was spot on. The new one is pretty off putting to me as a long term Jeep owner.
