While doing pritchet canyon my jeep started to smoke while on an incline. Backed down and turned off the vehicle. Now when trying to start it the engine won't turn over. It goes to run and everything electronic comes on but I get a check engine light and no attempt to turn over. Any suggestions??

I'm not sure about the no crank, is it not trying at all? Some JKs with the pentastar (might have been only certain years) would smoke like crazy on steep inclines due to the valve covers filling with oil and the PCV sucking oil into the intake. Pull your plugs, see what they look like then with the plugs removed see if it'll crank.

BTW I think the JK issue was due to a manufacturing defect in the head that prevented oil from draining back down. So if you do have this issue I would expect it to be a warranty issue.
Yeah it does not do anything. It's almost like a lock out more computer related.

Did you ever make it off the trail?
Getting it towed out as we speak. Jeep would not tow it out for me. They said they only tow from paved roads. I've been told they will reimburse me if the issue falls under warranty. I can't see how it wouldn't since I didn't break anything by abusing the vehicle it just won't start.
