Jeep from Canada in US, Updates?

I purchased a Jeep in the US but was originally from Canada so the radio updates are based on this. I enter VIN on Uconnect but the update they give me is wrong.
Pic shows current version. When I enter VIN they have me download: UCONNECT_8.4_IR21.10_MY18JL_VP4R_CAN which is a lower version then what's currently installed.
I know there are a few newer versions and would like to get this up to date.
How would I get this done?

According to this thread, you may have to venture back up to Canada to download the update....sounds like it's a cellular/hardware thing....

I was reading a bit and supposedly you can get the update to do with USB. Just need to find it, I will try and call them next week.

I had the exact same issue. My 2020 was built in the USA but made for a Canadian fleet customer (Enterprise Car Rental). Other that the VIN label on the door frame (no VIN tag riveted on the dash) and the radio software you'd never know the difference. I spent hours on the phone with UConnect USA and UConnect Canada as well as Jeep with no solution.

The Canadian UConnect folks wouldn't give out any info. Basically, the only answer was to drive it near or into Canada & hope that the OTA updates would magically happen. I was not able to find any way to update the software via download. The solution for me was to watch the forums and grab a take-out radio. I latched onto one that had been removed from a 2023 Gladiator. The seller had all the info for the radio head so I went ahead & bought it. Plug & play, and I was able to download & update the software. I paid $800 for the 2023 radio head & sold the Canadian head for $500 to a company in FL that rebuilds the radios. $300 to eliminate the Canadian software was worth it to me.

Finally talked to uconnect and they said call and goto dealer to get any updates done? Really, I dont believe I have to pay to get an update when you used to be able to get these all free. I find them online but not for the can version.

Every time I start the Jeep it has always said subscription updating so when I called and talked to Sirius they said the radio needs a update which makes may be since I also notice my backup lines are not always working and sometimes the camera is black.

Anyone have any idea where I can just download a newer version then:

Subsequent to perusing all that I could on this discussion for the two or three weeks, I chose to purchase a 2014 Thousand Cherokee Highest point Ecodiesel. I found the specific tone and choices I was expecting and everything looked perfect. With 64k miles, the guarantee had terminated on age.

Have you tried running through a Canadian VPN?

I know that the newer 8.4-in uconnect screens have been updated so that you cannot get into engineering mode, only available is you can get into dealer mode which doesn't help you update anything.

Looks like you're in Ohio, you're actually pretty close to Canada. You could probably take a weekend trip up to the border and take care of it that way. Might not be a bad idea to try running your phone as a hotspot through a Canadian VPN and see if you can update the software that way.

I'm not super keen on VPNs or hotspots for that matter but I know a guy... @Ratbert

I think I tried every possible way to updates for the Canadian software that was in my radio. I got the runaround from Uconnect in the US and in Canada. I took it to the dealer and they tried something & said it was updated, but it wasn't.

I contacted infotainment.com and they said that they could do it but I would have to send the radio to them. If you chose that route, you have to select the desired HVAC settings as you can't make any adjustments while the radio is out for the upgrades.

I finally just gave up and bought a take out unit out of a 2023 Gladiator for $800 and installed it. Problem solved! I sold the old radio to the folks at infotainment.com for $500.
