I have not received that email. But this is kind of common across the industry. Jeeps nav system is garbage anyway.

In the age of CarPlay/Android Auto, these vendors are marching to their grave, and I hope they enjoy their final days of ripping off.

I got the same email, I was really surprised that they were charging and that they feel $99 is a sale. I don't even use the built in navigation but I feel like paid map updates should be a thing of the past.

Seriously...who uses their default maps and doesn't use Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps....I can't believe this is even a thing anymore lol

Agreed. It’s one thing if they were offering new tools and functions, but $100 to tell me the Shell station on the corner is now a Mobil? No thanks.

I’ll keep using Waze, Apple Maps, and Gia which all update regularly.

I still get letters in the mail for a 2013 Raptor that I sold 5 years ago. No thanks! My iPhone + CarPlay is 10x better.

I run a tablet in my JLUR with google maps mainly for navigation and Gaia while off the road. It is funny, I will map the route, on google, then route the map on Uconnect. Uconnect will try and drive me all over the fucking place and and hours to my drive. I let it run in the back ground and mute the sound for the navigation. I still use it because I find that I like to do quick checks for fuel locations and it shows things off the up coming exits. and rest areas with out having to adjust my google map.

There is NO FUCKING way I would pay to have it updated.

The real question is, does anyone have a line on a heavily discounted map update? ;) - I mean, it's just data.. and it's not like there is any development cost for FCA (assuming the same update is getting installed in ones getting sold today).
