Due to the pain from that condition his eyes had to be removed. He now has prosthetic silicone eyes with his natural corneas. Rex Specs came to the rescue for protection and to keep his eyes from drying out because as you can see his favorite thing is to hang out the window.
The year he went blind was a tough year on him. At one point he was on 5 eye drops 3x a day and 150mg of tramadol for the pain 2x a day trying to maintain his eye sight and manage the pain. When he finally went completely blind the 2 weeks following the surgery were very hard on him. However, now he’s the same ol titus as he was. You wouldn’t even know he was blind now to see him move around are. home. Great pup. Good info. We have an English Cream Retriever. Wonder if they suffer the same thing? Yea just have them check the pups Intraocular pressure at the vet check. First sign of high intraocular pressure find a animal opthimologist. You can’t stop it but you can slow it’s progression with drops if you catch it early.
