The problem with that response is there's a difference between want and need. Your reasoning would fall under the "want" category, and that's fine. If you want a Rubicon, by all means go buy one, that's literally why they're produced.

I don’t agree. I know I do not need a Rubicon, especially a new one upwards of $50,000. I would imagine most people purchase vehicles for some other reason than what is most practical or best suited for their needs. Whether that is cost, looks, available options, etc. My one complaint about many posts on this forum is the judgemental tone in a lot of them about an individual’s choice of trim and what that says about their intelligence, the size of their ego, or their social status. I’m gonna get a Rubicon because I work my ass off (two jobs, over 60 hours a week for 10 years) and that is what I choose to spend my money on. When I see somebody purchased a sport, I don’t assume they are going to be mall crawling or that they can’t afford a Rubicon, I just assume they have their reasons, and will be just as happy as I intend to be with my purchase. Long post, sorry to rant, and I am not responding to one particular post, just a theme I have noticed.

You're not even ranting, you're making perfect sense. That's the mentality most lack, which goes back to my initial comment. I can bring up multiple posts on this site alone, bashing the Sport + Sahara trims, or as I said in my initial post, comments literally calling anything but a Rubicon "useless." Not trying to start drama so I won't link those comments, anyone can go search for 'em. Bashing on other trims just makes you look like a tool.

There's a big difference between saying "I think the Rubicon is awesome, so thats what I want" and saying "Saharas are mall crawlers, anything but a Rubicon is useless" I've had plenty of Jeeps in my lifetime, a Rubicon being one of them, I never felt the need to bash other jeep trims or models.

I agree most don't need a rubicon But thank heavens they are buying them otherwise we wouldn't be able to get any.But you have to think of it as a tool. How man people have a wire stripper, a torque wrench, or some other not real common tool in your garage. When you need it there is no substitution. Like who needs a jet ski. how many grandparents need an suv. Who really needs a motorhome. I am a geologist I work offroad alot but I could ge by with something else. do I want to Hell No. So as far as i am concerned buy the rubicon you work hard it is your money, spend it how you want. Sure, but there is a difference between buying a wire stripper because you actually strip wires ... and buying a wire stripper even though you never strip wires. In the former case, the buyer is looking at utility value, and how the wire stripper will help accomplish the real task of stripping of wires. While in the latter case, perhaps there is instead some emotional payoff to owning an unused wire stripper.
