Howdy y'all .just bought my first new Jeep .I've owned 80's CJ's but this is my first new one .it's kind of a strange one though. It's an '18 rubicon with the 2.0 turbo hurricane motor. I have to say I was impressed with it's acceleration and fuel economy. I only have 800 or so miles on it so it can't do anything but get better . I want to see what others think on this engine and find out about upgrades that won't break the bank . Thanks for the add.

Hello everybody!

My name is Olaf and I'm from Bavaria/Germany. I'm married, got a 16-year old son and a little dog.
I bought my teenage-dream (Rubicon JLUR - black) 3 months ago and allthough there are a few things that are annoying me, it' great and fantastic! I don't wanna change it!

Looking forward to watching your comments and pics!

Regards,
Olaf

First time Jeep owner. Thought about getting one many times. Almost did in 1999 and 2013 LOL but just ended up with a sports car instead. Just picked up a customized 2018 Wrangler Sport S JLU and love it.

And, here's the new one. I think I'm in love... Purchased used with 8K miles on it. Pretty sure it was built by Adam's Jeep. Anybody have any info on them? Good? Bad?

Hi everyone, I have been lurking around the forums for a while and taking advantage of all the valuable info here. I have owned a 1995 YJ back in the late 1990's to mid 2000's. In 2007, I purchased a brand new Toyota FJ Cruiser and have been driving that until my daughter needed a car to go away to college. She told me she loved my FJ Cruiser and very nicely asked if she could have it. So, bye bye FJ and hello new JL. I purchased my JL Sport S on 12/27/18 (merry christmas to me) and I absolutely love this thing. First pic below is delivery day and the second pic was taken yesterday when new tires and wheels were installed. I'm glad to be back in a Jeep again.

Hi. I'm Ray. Always wanted a jeep, so last June wife and I leased a 2018 JL four door sport, hard top auto. I like the machine very much, but don't like leasing. So this December we decided to buy my future retirement toy, and factory ordered a 2019 JL two door Sport S soft top with a manual transmission, ant-spin axle, trailer hitch and side steps. I just got it this week and have so far put a little over one hundred miles on it. Since we live up here in western NY we're waiting for spring to play with the top and do a little trail driving. So far so good. We still have the four door, and do enjoy it, splitting up my daily drive between the two jeeps and my Ram 1500 Tradesman. As for the difference between the automatic and manual transmissions... it a wait and see. I like both, but each has its advantages. The eight speed does adjust rapidly to the road and driving conditions, but the manual put me more in touch with the highway. Gas mileage is a little better with the two door. After the break in and with warmer weather I hope to be getting about 23 or so miles per gallon.

Just realized I fat fingered my screen name, created a new one and used the wrong one to check in.

Hello, checking in from Black Canyon City, AZ.
Quick history and background on me:
I've owned a Jeep since 1988. My first jeep was a 1947 Willys CJ2A. In 1993, I bought a 1955 CJ3B, this jeep went through many changes over the 20 or so years I had it, and in its last incarnation was a rock buggy. I've also owned a 2001 TJ, a 1998 XJ, a 1984 CJ7 (that one morphed into a rock crawling Jeep), a 2014 JK, and now, a 2019 JL Rubicon. That just about covers all the Jeep vehicles I've wheeled in. I did own a FSJ J20, but never got around to restoring it. I used to do all my own fabrication work, and modifications to my jeeps, but I'd say the years have slowed me down a bit. Still willing to do some things, others, ill leave to the shop, if I find a need.

I got in to Jeeps primarily for hunting and recreational 4 wheeling, and followed that into Rock crawling.
Now, I'm just coming full circle and back to my roots of hunting and recreational 4 wheeling, sight seeing and back roads adventure. I'm very happy with my JL, I have read some horror stories, but I think I got lucky with this one... at least so far. I've managed to clock about 1500 miles on the odometer in my last 2 weeks of ownership, just doing trips out 4 wheeling. I don't use this vehicle for daily driving or commuting.

Anyway, happy to be here and looking forward to wheeling with those in my area, or wherever my adventures take me.

Thanks for reading!

Greetings from Indiana! I grew up in Toledo, OH in a Jeep family. Both my dad and uncle worked at the Jeep Assembly Plant for over 30 years. My dad started in '73 and worked there until his untimely passing from cancer in '07. Since '73 we have never been without a Jeep in the family. Some of my earliest memories were riding around in the back of my dad's '79 CJ-7 with my brothers and watching him do the "Jeep Wave."

It has been a lifelong dream of mine to own a Wrangler, but never happened due to either life circumstances or financial reasons. Recently, with my wife's blessing, I got serious about it and starting saving as much money as I could. I finally placed my order on November 16th for a 2019 JLU Sport and picked it up last week on my 40th birthday.

It's hard to explain the feeling I get everytime I start the ignition…it's so much more than a Jeep to me. It represents not only my family's history, but the sacrifices my dad made all those years at the Toledo plant to provide my brothers and I with opportunities he never had. I just feel this connection to him everytime I drive it. I also get emotional looking at my 3 kids in the backseat with huge smiles thinking about my dad feeling the same way over 30 years ago in his CJ-7 watching my brothers and I having a blast and making lifelong memories.

Anyways sorry for the emotional post but jut wanted to let you all know what my JLU means to me. I'm so excited to be part of this awesome community of Wrangler lovers!

New to the forum and Jeep. First wrangler I’ve ever had. Can’t imagine not owning one moving forward. These things are awesome!

Sean here... been reading a lot here since I purchased my 2019 JLUR. Great info and advise on here. Also have a stock 2004 LJ that will be building for rock crawling, and a built 1975 CJ5 with a 401ci AMC.
