Hey there, my name is Barry. Needless to say I've a weird addiction to those vehicles. That is why a friend introduced me here. It's very nice to meet you all. Have a nice day!

Your right jeeps are great. They are just damn fun to drive no matter what you are doing.

First time Jeep owner as well. I can’t stop driving it! I’m wondering why I’ve never considered buying one prior to this. I never knew a vehicle could be so much fun! I find reasons why I need to go somewhere. But not everyone “Jeep waves”. I feel like an idiot at times hanging out the window breaking my neck to wave at a Jeep. But it’s ok, because I’m having FUN! *jeep wave*

This is my first Jeep, too! There are quite a few people in my area that don't return the wave, but that won't stop me. You don't have to feel like an idiot. You're just waving at a Jeep with a bad owner. lol

Hey all, prospective JLUR owner here!

I've finally been given the green-light to make a purchase, now I have to decide on what I want! My main focus is on Sting-Gray but I also love black and Punk'n. What I really want is a Sting-Gray or black with orange accents instead of the red. The red looks great, it just isn't me. Debating whether I want to put the time and effort in to changing everything, including the decals, stitching, dash trim, etc. to orange. Decisions, decisions!

Hey! Short time lurker, first time Jeep owner. I bought my first Jeep, a 6 speed JLU Sahara in Firecracker Red and am loving it for the most part. It is definitely a blast to drive. Looking forward to mods.

I'm a first-time Jeep owner and I see I've been missing out... I can already see this getting expensive soon... I didn't realize how versatile these things are... all the parts/accessories available make this thing like a Lego set. But I love it already.:involve:

Hey, Jay here.

We've owned 6 Jeeps to date, a '46 CJ2A I restored/modified, a '60 CJ5 I repowered with a Buick V6, a '67 CJ5 that came with an OEM installed Buick V6 and a '76 CJ7 "Levi Edition" that came with a V8 and quadratrac. Our first new Jeep was one of the first '07 Wrangler Unlimiteds on the road (rescue green) and a Rubicon at that. I loved that Jeep, right up to the day some dizzy idiot rear ended it while we were sitting at a red light. She was doing an estimated 45 to 50 mph. Folded the frame at the rear kickup, killed one of our dogs and left us scrambling to replace the Jeep in the very short time before we were scheduled to head out for our first post retirement trip west. We ended up with a '12 Sahara Altitude edition. While in the Black Hills I quickly determined it needed lower gearing and found a Jeep building shop to swap in 4.10s and, while he was at it, install electric lockers front and rear.

In a past life we were active members of the 4 Lakes 4 Wheelers 4X4 club out of Madison WI. Not long after building the '46, however, I got into a different hobby. Got my pilots license and owned a couple of different antique aircraft. As those of you with wings know, if God had meant for man to fly he would have given him more money. My wife tolerated my flying obsession, but was never fully invested in it. After selling the Luscombe in '91 we just went on to bigger and bigger RVs, now living in a 45' diesel motorhome

18 months ago I succumbed to my wife's pleadings and agreed to shop for a replacement. Now that we spend 6 months of the year in a high population density area I'll admit I was getting tired of "rowing" the 6 speed manual everywhere we went. In a weak moment I agreed to go shopping. Another Wrangler was off the shopping list. She hated the back seat, one because it is difficult to get into (we're no spring chickens) and two, because there was no rear seat ventilation any time she was back there. At least one of those deficiencies has been addressed with the JL.

To make a long story short, we ended up with a GMC Acadia. Even she recently agreed it's just too boring and generic. I was especially frustrated last year when we took an extended multi state trip west and I wasn't comfortable exploring the many scenic trails all around me in the GMC. We're no longer hard core wheelers, looking to overcome the next big obstacle, we're looking for more relaxed scenic touring where others can't.

As of right now I'm hoping to order a '19 Wrangler Rubicon, getting just what I want this time, once we get back to our central Florida home base in early November. Joining this forum is just part of the research effort leading up to then.
