I know that I'm going to get a bit of drama for this post, but here I go. :) Yes I've searched the forums every night for the last 2 weeks.

I've lifted my Tundra for weeks before by the pumpkin and putting the rear axle on my old school Sears Craftsman 4 ton stands that go to 17 5/16". Toyota utilizes a 3rd member design and recommend lifting it by the pumpkin (in the rear).

Jeep seems to not recommend lifting by the pumpkin and in the front it is off-center, so I figure that I'll frame lift it by each side and place the jack stands where the pictures indicate on the install instructions.

My questions are:
1) is 17 5/16" high enough of a jack stand to install the Mopar lift? I am getting a second pair of stands to support the axles from a friend.
2) where would you lift up each side of the Jeep to place on stand behind the LCA as indicated in the install instructions?
3) any helpful hints from those who have installed this lift before?

1) No. Mine are the same height so I used a couple 2x8's under them to raise them 3 inches.
2) Placed mine on the frame behind the front LCA's and in front of the rear LCA's.

Jacking from the pumpkins is fine. You’re going to need taller jack stands or some sturdy blocking to place underneath yours.

1) I had a 21” for my 3.5” lift on my JLU (sold now). I think almost any 3 ton stand will work back behind the LCA’s.
2) I still use the diff in front, and the FAD skid plate to lift the passenger side higher. In the rear I actually use the rib slightly towards the the center of the vehicle on the diff. Sometimes I use the tube just beside the diff housing.
3) I have not installed the mopar, but lifts have certain things in common. If you’re not doing LCA’s, it should be pretty straightforward. Budget 1 day for rear and 1 day for front with breaks to consult here and it should go good. Rushing seems to be the common denominator for problems.

This has to be the worst picture ever. It appears that Mopar is indicating to place the jackstand under the LCA. So if I place it there, how do I remove the LCA? I can't go behind it because that bar is there. Does anyone have any hints on positioning this jackstand?

Set the jack stand so that it's saddle is cradling the frame rail right behind that crossbar. It'll support the Jeep rock solid, while allowing some elbow room to work.

I appreciate everybody's help. This picture shows "Top In Correct Position" I figure that the flat part faces out and the "pointy part" (technical term) faces in. So the passenger side would be the opposite of this looking forward.

Can someone confirm.

Edit: The intent of this appears to be to push the shock outboard a little to make up for the larger diameter.

One thing I learned during the install is the meaning of the term "Flag Nut". I've worked on vehicles for decades and never saw a "flag nut". I figured out that "THEY DON'T" move, I thought the flag was under the nut, but it is in-fact attached to the nut and meant to hold it in place. I hit the UCA nut with my impact and it didn't budge, but did round the head out nicely. I was able to go on the back side and loosen it, and the flag apparently did it's job.

A replacement nut probably will take a while to come in. If if the bolt torques down nicely, I'll order the replacement nut and replace it next time I have the Jeep in the air. You learn something new with every project. :)

I learned a lot, my only real major setback was on the passenger side I noticed that the spring sat on top of the correction pad as opposed to around it in the back (right before putting the tire on). I had to redrop the axle enough to properly locate the spring. Below is a picture of the correction pad after dropping the axle and before fixing it.

My friend says I should Tq down the control arms and roll around town for the day and look at people's reactions.

Done, now all I need is some tires. :)

I took it for a test drive and it drove good. I did a quick swerve back and forth and it made a little bit of a click noise, not sure if that is normal. It wasn't a maneuver I typically make, so not sure what to think.

Hopefully you got an alignment. I took mine straight to the shop the next day and it was off pretty good after messing with the front end.

I did and my alignment was way off too. Drove perfect after the alignment.
