Were you ever able to modify or bypass this? I’m upgrading my head unit. When I did this on JK, was able to replace OEM mic with on for the head unit in A pillar. Not sure if you (or anyone) has done the same on JL?I’m sure a headset could get the job done, but I keep wondering if I could tap into the cabin’s microphone input and either bypass it to a mounted shotgun mic (with windscreen) or modify the existing mic input to better filter out background noise so I’m not that crazy guy yelling “Hey Siri..play my AC/DC playlist!!!” for the 8th time in a row at his dash.
I think this is the driver’s side microphone input. If I get some time I’ll research more and report back what I find out.
