So got a 21 4xe few weeks ago. Needed a few parts and have the Battery Recall performed. Was just wainting on the parts to come in that needed to be replace. Took it on a road trip while I was waiting on that and had two more issues come up. One was the Shifter not coming out of park ended up being the switch in the brake pedal needing to be stomped on sometime. And noticed when I went to drop it off at the dealer that I had a water pouring sound from the HV Battery area. NOT SLOSHING..... Pouring. Now mind you I did not pick this up at a Jeep Dealership but a Honda one. Now most everything getting replaced under warranty by Jeep and what is not is covered by the Honda Dealership. Sure there might be some questions on that..... Very good dealership..... Great folks..... Anyways they have it over at the Jeep Dealership of course for the repairs and what not. Anyways.... So told them about the water sound and Jeep reported back (this is what Honda Said as FWD by Jeep to them) The battery recall passed and the Tech also heard the water sound and found that the Battery Heater was leaking. So I have been trying to get ahold of my guy at Honda and he is out for the week. So called over to Jeep and talked to the Service advisor and was informed that no the leak was in the Battery pack aparently. STAR case has been opened and everything so they are in their holding pattern waiting on that.
I honestly kind of expected this and was actually hoping for it to be honest. The deal on the Jeep was very good, low miles and still has a lot of warranty on it and I got away from my Shitaru WRX. But the Jeep was a Garage/Beach Queen for its life so far. So being an USMC/NAVY AE I know batterys sitting idle for long periods of time not getting cycled is not all that good for them. So I was hoping that the pack would get swapped and I would have fresh ones that and well rather get it out of the way upfront as reading through the shit show stories people have had....
Anyways sorry for the story... qustion is how long of time frames are people seeing right now on HV Battery swaps? Everything I have seen is older post.
