Coolant lines cool the oil in the oil cooler?Hot oil goes in, somewhat less-hot oil comes out.
Oil Temp is sampled from the hot side. The Jeep software that shows the oil temperature is the temperature of the cooled oil?
Thanks!Oil Temp is sampled from the hot side.

The 3.6L oil cooler is a plate style engine coolant-to-engine oil heat exchanger. Are you implying that the 3.6L in the Gladiator has an additional cooler for the engine oil or engine coolant? If so, do you have a picture of that cooler?Gladiator has an extra cooling thingy that Wrangler doesn't have, it is not the transmission cooler. Gladiator has some extra cooling under the hood.
I don't know where the hottest oil temps occur in the lubrication system, but the oil temperature sensor is located on the back of the right cylinder head. After the oil cooler, the oil enters the main oil gallery of the engine. The main oil gallery then supplies oil to the rest of the engine by a series of smaller oil passages. The Jeep software that shows the oil temperature is the temperature of the cooled oil?

When I turn the fan on with my tazer the Jeep sounds like a helicopterI am pretty sure that the "heavy-duty engine cooler" refers to a more powerful cooling fan, which some Wranglers also have.
