When I bought my 2019 Sport (off the lot, equipped just as I wanted) in July of 2019, sticker was 35.2k. Dealer discount was 3,500. Out the door ended up right at 32k. I dont know sticker from invoice from MSRP, or what was good percentages then. ...just retroactively wondering how I did?

You did better than most, not as good as a few if you believe what is posted on the forum.

Typically a Jeep OTD for thousands less than MSRP after taxes is good.

OTD includes doc/tax/title/plates/fees. Are you counting this in your OTD price?

$35,200-3,500= $31,700. There is no way you only paid $300 in TTL and doc.

Either the dealership gave you more than $3500 off, or you are not including TTL Doc.

Iowa doesn't have a sales tax on motor vehicles.

Couldn't disagree more. Many dealerships have higher fees or tack on add ons making the agreed upon % off irrelevant.

High doc fees
Window etching
Nitrogen fill
Door trim
Mandatory paint protection
Advertising fees

Etc.

Out the door might have been 32 and change, but was under 33 in any case. Total sticker was 35,270.


I see people talking about 6% under invoice, just wondered how this might compare.

.....and the above items are things one (with any reasonable set of testicles) can simply tell any selling dealer to “piss up a rope” and move on to a dealer that does not participate in any of those shenanigans listed previously.

Yes......everyone might have to deal with doc fees, but even those are negotiable to a certain extent.
