Hook Clinometer light up to headlight switch

I had a Clinometer in my old TJ. I miss the old days, I ran it to the same panel dimmer wire, so it dimmed with the dash lights. Is that still an option in the modern JL? I have thought about adding a Clinometer to my JL too. I like the old school charm of it. I guess I would tap off a switch illumination wire. Like the circle around the cig-lighter. I can't remember right now if that is always on or with lights, and if it dims. I might check here first.

Vehicles with the 8.4" radio also have one in Off Road Pages.

Okay, I knew there was at least some level that didn't have it, because the rental places would only ever have the most basic (talking 5" no u-connect) versions of the Jeeps...

Mine is a base sport 5” screen but has the u connect and I don’t have it in my Jeep. That’s why I’m trying to figure out the correct color wire from the switch
