Home link system help

In the YouTube Video produced by MOPAR demonstrating how to pair your in vehicle garage door opener (home link) they mention the system can be used to arm and disarm a home security system but don’t go into details on how this is done.
Does anyone have experience on how to link the system to ones home security and are there any other home systems the home link can operate?

I have mine paired to 2 different garages and two different brands of motors. I followed the mopar instructions to a t and it worked well for me.

I have a Chaberlain garage door opener as well. Make sure you don't skip the steps that require you to get on a ladder and pressing some button directly on the opener motor that hangs from the ceiling. That makes the system work with rolling codes; which most modern openers use now.
