I just looked under the dash on the driver side and didn't find an empty plug. Doesn't mean it isn't there, just means I couldn't get my hand/arm positioned to find it with all the panels attached. Someone must have a service manual that would show the entire wire harness run.
I have a controller connection on driver side

Hi KCulp,
Did you successfully install Tekonsha 118782 on your 2018 Sahara JL? I am looking into installing this but according to e-trailer it will not work with a Sahara or Rubicon.

I posted my original post here
but no luck in getting a response back.
I installed, but have not tested it yet. Someone else had installed it and said it worked, which is why I chose the Tekonsha. They had the towing package and found a compatible harness. I hard wired mine since I installed my own “tow package”.

I’ll update once I test it out with my trailer.

Tested and not working. Brakes work with the manual override, but not with the brake pedal.

I bought a JL from Dave Smith in Kellog, ID at the end of March. There wasn't a lot of bolt on options on the market, but what was out there, they had on our Jeep. Everything except a wiring harness for the hitch receiver they installed lol. In their defense, they didn't charge us, but I suppose I just assumed it was on there since it had a 'tow package.' Sucks finding out when you go to pick up your boat in Jeep instead of your tow rig. Oh well.

SO... Do I need to buy the 225 dollar Mopar adapter and go fishing and drilling? Or is there an alternative? Anything I should check before starting? On my build sheet the only mention of something tow related is the "Trailer Sway Dampening"

Thanks in advance for your help/advice/pointers.

This is a long thread, so I understand you maybe didn't want to read it all, but there is a lot of info here. The quick answer for you is more of a question. Do you have the 7/4 pin plug on the back? If so, you're good. If not, it's a PITA to do yourself. There is another thread on here that guides you through it. No, no drilling, just plug and play, but rest assured it will take you hours, not minutes to install...like, 4-6 depending on your competency...maybe longer. A LOT of interior plastic panels need removing as well as re-pinning of a plug.

I saw that someone installed the wiring harness and ran the wire under the jeep. They put it in protective casing and ran it to the front. Looked pretty cool.
