Did you reuse the bolts that go through the metal plate on the bumper? Did you have to remove the metal plates? I am hoping that I can order this cheaper hitch, use the existing bolts without removing anything, and pick up two additional bolts from Lowe's to go through the other two holes. Hoping to confirm before ordering.

If I order the 7-way harness does it mount directly to this receiver, like it does from the factory? (I understand the lengthy install)

Yes I reused the 2 bolts and no you don’t need to remove anything. It’s easy to mount up. It will mount just like the factory stuff.

Vendor, Vin .... HUH ............... I just mentioned it is JL specific. What do you expect to get words wise from a vendor?

Sit back and let other's figure it out. There will be some wire(s) attachment to the 4 or 7 pin connector, you will need to have a clue in regard to basic automotive wiring/trailer wiring, but with this OEM jump harness plug & play) there is no cutting into the precious JL/JLU stock wiring harness.. AND, thus no warranty concerns.

@FatBoy1 it's hard to articulate here... I've got the LED lighting package. very cautious it doesn't throw a code. ... plus there was no image of the harness.

I understand your concern in regard to LED package, etc.. ANY offering you try may have issues. You would like to think the MOPAR offering has taken into consideration the LED package. Again, until someone tries who knows.

It is a $28 gamble to try. Someone will try and report back here. Not everybody wants to try.. to bother, but there will be somebody that will.

IF Mopar says it is for the JL, pic or not it is... Can also tell you if Kendall at CoolTech, LLC gives it the nod, (which he has) you can be sure you can take it to the bank so to speak.

Sit back and relax, it will only be a matter of time. My guess is, this OEM jump harness will do the trick for all.

I brought home a JLU Sport S without the towing package. I NEED a 4-pin flat wiring harness to tow a fishing boat. The hitch is no problem, I've installed those on JKUs before and they are cheap. What's got me stumped is finding JLU compatible wiring for a 4-pin flat connector to my trailer. Is there anything available yet that's inexpensive and easy to hook up at the tail lights?

You guys that have installed thr OEM 4-7pin wiring harness or have not yet installed it and plan to, you will want to watch this video.

Given at the end of the video is very IMPORTANT info you need to know so you can get that Mopar harness and or Mopar hitch added to your JL's factory warranty. Adding to warranty gives you 36 months warranty on these items..

Thinking about installing the Mopar hitch on your JL? The instructions describe in multiple languages about removing all sorts of bumper parts, but it's much easier than that. There is a plate that sits where the hitch is supposed to go. It would appear that the plate is in the way of installing the hitch and should be removed, but there is a much simple way. You remove the two large bolts and two small screws (10 mm head) that are attached to this plate. Then use two long screwdrivers to pry the plate away from the frame member and pop in two one-inch thick wood spacers between the frame and the plate. The hitch then slides easily into position, you slide in a couple of the long bolts so the hitch won't drop onto your head, and you can pull out the wooden spacers, add the two other bolts, tighten it all up. In, out, 10 minutes, and the job was done. Now too bad the harness doesn't seem so easy...
