Curious: Are people still as Hemi-hungry now that the new JL Diesel is out? I've owned a GC Hemi and it's a fine engine, but the diesel seems to be a better solution. It's has more torque (and lower down) and gets much better fuel economy. Does that scratch the itch for the power advocates among us?

[Although you can't beat a V-8 for sound.]

Neither. I’d rather have a light powertrain on the nose. A 400 hp 2.0 etc like a Mercedes 4cyl and the cooling to go with it would be great.

That said, I may have to go Diesel on a Gladiator it seems but I’ll keep this killer 2.0 eTorque I have in the Sahara. My goals are modest and it’ll more than do the job for us and get close to 27 mpg at 70 mph both ways with good power.

If they build it, people will buy it.
I agree with this. I'd have bought a Jeep-built Hemi. Factory engineering/installation + about 25% of the cost of a engine swap would have been an attractive proposition.

$5k option? Zero hesitation.

$10k option? Maybe.

$15k option with D60's? Zero hesitation.

Yep you’re right don’t own one and wouldn’t. This setup is not meant for daily driving. When you look into this engine a little deeper on its design and the new post Obama CAFE standards the marriage between the engine and emissions is simply a slap on system.

Lots of threads on issues with emissions issues and Start/stop issues and stalling issues and even one guy who said they forgot his spark plugs
Damn. They forgot his spark plugs? That’s just unacceptable to forget to install spark plugs in a diesel. Dodgy. Yeah maybe I won’t buy one. I think I’ll listen to you more often. :bandit:
