Help to ID this part please

Found on top of passenger side floor mat, has a bit of white grease on it, two gear sides and the gear turns. The largest gear diameter is about the size of a nickel.

Looks like the glove box door gear, part of the gizmo that doesn’t let fly open…

Thanks guys, will have to remove that door and figure out if anything broke causing that gear set to drop. FWIW glove box door seems to open and close ok so maybe it's not a must lol.

Mine fell out years ago. I spent 4 seconds trying to put it back and then realized that I didn't care and tossed it in the trash. Haven't thought about it since (until now, thanks).

Thanks for the link, looks like it's just one of those parts that wasn't fully engineered, not as bad as the sun visors though (hopefully).

lol, yeah it didn't seem to affect the glovebox operation much, especially since I only open it 3-4x a year
