Jeep Unlimited Rubicon 2021
I am in the middle of putting together my first Jeep, or first car I have ever modified for that matter, and am stuck. As of right now, I have a 21 Rubicon Unlimited with
a 3.5in JKS Coil Lift (which includes the new coil springs, front adjustable track bar, front sway bar quicker disconnects, front caster cam locks, front/rear bump stop extensions, rear extended sway bar links, and a rear track bar bracket). I have front and rear JKS adjustable lower control arms and a Teraflex geometry correction bracket to support the lift. I also have the Fox 2.0 shocks. Currently rocking some very heavy wheels with 17 inch black rhino arsenals wrapped in 37 inch nitro ridge grapplers.

My question is: should I continue to modify the car in whatever way I want, or is there some important parts that I am missing to support the lift and big tires that should be taken care of first? I care first and foremost about everything being done the proper way. I am not sure if I should be looking at upper adjustable control arms, rear adjustable track bars, or something else before worrying about continuing with the build. As I mentioned this is my first Jeep and first car I have modified so really learning as I go.

Not worried about regearing as the 2.0 w e torque has been handling the additional weight just fine. Looking more for any advice as far as having proper support / angling for added weight / height. Thanks in advance

Next things I would be concerned about would be a HD steering setup, iron knuckles, and HD ball joints.

In one breath you mention wanting to doing everything the proper way but in the next mention that you're not worried about re-gearing? The suspension pieces you've added should be plenty beefy enough to handle what you've done so far tho I'm not sure about the need for the geometry correction bracket on top of the lift kit. The next sensible supporting mod would be to take a little strain off your drive line by re-gearing to offset what is, by your own admission, a very heavy wheel and tire setup. It'll improve the driveability dramatically. Then maybe look into the steering upgrades that start to make sense at 37"+ tires.

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time
What about a few sticks of Big Red for the center console?

My only fear with regearing is the extended warranty. The dealer said any modifications are fine but the aftermarket parts themselves will obviously not be covered. I understand what effect regearing has on the car but I don’t fully comprehend the scope of the work and how much of a difference it makes to all other parts of the engine. Just don’t want the dealership to blame the regear for any future issues in the engine that would have been covered by the extended warranty

I was under the impression that regearing was more driver preference rather than actually helping the car run better, as long as I’m staying in safe RPMs. If it is going to help the car overall, it would be the next thing I do

The regear is the reason I went with body mods first and am just now moving to wheel and tire combo. I know it doesn't need to be done right away (Dana 44 here on 35s - ending at 37s) but the sooner the better. It will improve many factors of your lifted/ bigger wheel and tire jeep. This is another reason I'll be running the 35s for awhile before upgrading. My 21 JLR can handle it with a proper tune.

It's not really a driver preference thing, no. It is expensive and not the flashiest of mods so a lot of people will make all kinds of excuses not to go ahead and do it. But whenever you are going to a taller, heavier wheel and tire setup you have created a situation where it is more difficult to turn the wheels over. It requires more torque to get things moving. This will be evidenced by a loss of fuel mileage, slower acceleration, etc. Re-gearing restores that torque multiplication and helps to offset those losses. With proper gear selection it'll also put your motor back into its designed RPM band more often. It's all math and math doesn't really care about your feelings. But re-gearing is one of the biggest quality of life improvements you can make once you've decided to go to a larger, heavier wheel and tire setup.

Plenty of people running 37's and not regeared and are happy with the performance. So only look at regearing if you are not happy with your acceleration.

I would skip geometry correction brackets if you wheel. They hang down way too low and they get scraped. You have adjustable control arms. That should be good enough to get you the caster you want/need.

I don’t know how you are planning to use your Jeep but if I were you I would buy the whole kit from JKS. Mine rides better than the Rubi takeoff on 33’s. . I did the 3.5 J-Kontrol w/ fox 2.0, HD springs and fox steeering stabilizer. I’m running heavy 37’s on 20’s (122 lbs). That’s all I needed but they offer other versions that may suit your needs better. They have a great warranty that you may void if you add another manufacture’s part to the setup. I haven’t re-geared yet, have 6cyl auto, but will this year- I live at sea level and have a young driver so crappy acceleration is a blessing. Your mechanic will also thank you because it installs easily, mine said it was the nicest kit he has ever done.

Thanks, these fenders are what they advertise (KBD). Right now this is the only jeep product that they make. I'm running inner liners for the falcon shocks. Saving up for the shocks.
