Snow covered LED head lights and fog lights. Central, Ohio. 30°, moderate snow. Less than a 15min drive, 55mph. Headlights and fog lights covered with snow. I realize that I am not the first to have this happen, but add me to the count. I assume Jeep is working on a remedy for this...

Picked up my 2019 Rubicon about 3 weeks ago. Ordered it on 12/1 and it was built around 1/24/19. Noticed the squelching sounds randomly when listening to the radio. Yesterday I had the joy of the 8.4 screen going completely black on 1/3 of the screen. Drove it this way for about 20 minutes. Shut the Jeep off. Turned it back on and screen was still black on left 1/3 of screen. Let it sit and drove for about 15 minutes. Eventually the black 1/3 of screen turned slightly white and started coming back. Now it is completely back to normal.

Anyone have this issue with the screen going completely black on one side?

The day after the screen started acting crazy I completely lost the sound. After about 5 minutes the sound mysteriously came back on.

@JeepCares How do I get this resolved? I can go to the dealer but it is unlikely I can replicate the issues since they are completely random and come and go. I really don't want to waste my time going to dealer. I saw a thread and apparently this sounds like a common problem with the sound coming in and out, but I haven't seen anyone else that's screen went black like mine. Here are pictures I took of the screen the other day.

Was something replaced on yours, or did it just stop? Mine is back in the shop and this time we can't find a leak where it is hitting the ground. The coolant level is getting lower, bad coolant smell, and the oil level is rising, but no signs of obvious blown head gasket etc. I did find that the neck from the coolant hose to the lower radiator has a 1/8 gap at the top that was not here before, so looks like it may have gotten hot and deformed, however it does not appear to leak when sitting. (Looks like where plastic radiator meets metal hose neck). I have pictures from the first time I took it in and it was not like this, and now it is. I guess this could be where the smell is coming from.

Oh no that’s unfortunate brothe....sorry I’m just seeing this. That’s not good. I haven’t had any other issues in regards to coolant or any part of that system. Wish you the best. Hopefully it’s nothing. Stay on them and get it fixed correctly. That’s all you can do right now.

In the US the driver door plate has the build date and time on it.

That's the way LED headlights work if you don't have an electric grid built into the headlight lens. The deep dish of Wrangler headlights tends to help trap the snow while many other cars with LED headlights are flush and can sluff off easier. So nothing to fix. Does it on my JK with aftermarket LED lights.

When are you coming out with heated OEM LED Headlights? I have had to pull over several times going to work and clean the snow oww the headlights because they completely get covered. The first time I thought my lights went out, couldn't see the road at all.

Yeah, less than ideal for sure. It has been back in the shop since early Tuesday for the 3rd time and so far i have not heard a word back from the dealership. The first two times they were pretty quick an be kept me in the loop, this time it's different. My optimism is starting to fall quite a bit, but trying to keep positive. I keep my mind off it by ordering stuff for it, but i really should stop that at this Point.

Not good.
This from a major automaker, not aftermarket. I could not see the road.
The lights are great as long as it's not snowing.

My JK has aftermarket LED's with no heaters. It froze up badly once in about the 5 or so years I've had them, so I wasn't overly concerned, but still knew this would be a possibility with the JL. I made the decison to go LED just because 90% of the time, the benefits would outweight the risk. My JL lights have been snowed over twice now, but both times, enough light got through to the road that it was still better than the OEM incandescent lights that were formerly on my JK. So, before it happened the first time, I implemented a solution that cost less than $100. They are not really very bright, and the incandescent yellowish light is nowhere nearly as well spread as the LEDs, but it would get me out of a pickle if these things really froze over in a big way. I decided to do this because there simply won't be a solution from Jeep because their lights meet DOT safety standards and the fix would be way too expensive. If anyone is as serious about this as the complaints sound, then they should absolutely do this or something like it. They are Hella Black Magic 500 lights. They are 55 watt, which is the same as plain jane headlights have been for decades. You can get bigger ones, which are the 1,000 series, but they are about double the price. Problem solved. (I'm going to replace them eventually with Baja Designs LP6 LED's, which BD says are hot enough not to freeze over. It'll be awhile before I scrape together a grand for those, though.)

@JeepCares. I have a 2019 JLUR. I’ve taken it to the dealer and nothing. They even called Technical Assistance. My Uconnect Guardian isn’t working. It won’t do any remote features, or update location. The app will update my health report. My sos and assist buttons work. They can see where I am, but not what I’m driving. I can’t use remote features on Mopar.com either. Also, my apps don’t stay in the order I place them. Every time I move them around they go back to a different spot when I restart the Jeep. I know this may sound silly, but for $56,000 and less than a month old. This is ridiculous. Please help. PM when you can.

What exactly do you do? I have read numerous negative comments about Jeep Cares and am not aware of your function and ability to problem solve. Are you just a PR group and I don’t mean this as a negative comment. I have a 2017 Harley Davidson Triglide, an Audi Q5 and a BMW X5. I was informed about their customer service representatives, who to call if a dealer problem, etc. Not so when I purchased my Moab.

I can speak from my personal experience on this. I have had issues with my 2019 JLUR from the time I picked it up. I opened a case with Jeep Customer service and was escalated to the vip Cares or something like that. I also posted my issues on here. The Jeep Cares contacts on this forum have helped to keep my other case updated and make sure my case manager had all of the most recent information from this site that I had posted. It has actually been a big help. It is true a lot of the communication directly is via direct message, as really it is a private matter, but they do let you know in the main forums how to contact them, and that they are looking into it.

Others experience may vary, but that is what I have seen in my case.
