It’s been a long time since I’ve gone but I think it’s 25psi and they have an air station when returning. I don’t know what you mean by strict? It’s a sticker for the windshield and you should always have your kit. They have police patrol.

I forgot about the dog part…I used to go out specifically to run my dogs since most of the beaches are no dogs in the summer. There might be a rule about leashes but I only leashed them if it was busy.

The dog part is huge ! Jeepers loves the beach and we don't get to go all summer.

Pics here from Sandy Neck this afternoon...after a guy in restored 90's Land Rover left, it was only us on all of Sandy Neck today...high tide was just starting to going out, we went as far as Path #4, but water was up over all of beach beyond #4 so we passed on the "salt-bath" today & hung out there, but as always, sooo nice...ENJOY!

(Did some sand driving with my Nissan truck back in Australia already)
Any other tips and what to avoid?
I have all the gear except the high jack base. Would traction boards be a valid replacement ?

Not sure how strict the inspection would be about the jack support board.

I think the towns got together to make a puzzle, they all have a different requirement for the jack support board:

Dennis: Jack board no less than 12 x 12 x 5/8’’
National Seashore: Jack Support Board: Wood: 10" x 12" x 1.5" or Plywood: 10" x 12" x 3/4"
Orleans: Not less than 144 square inches and no more than 18" in length
Barnstable: Support board—minimum size 18” x 18”, 3/4” plywood or 1/4” thick steel.

The Barnstable standard covers it, mine is 18" x 18" x 3/4 plywood

If you're referring to Sandy Neck, yes they are open - The Sandy Neck Beach Park ORV app always gives current beach status (and how to get your permit) - which you should look at as well as a tide app before heading out...we are out there couple times a week & its always awesome - here's video from Tuesday. Note that Piping Plovers are now EVERYWHERE on the beach and speed limit has been reduced to 5 mph - you need to be VERY careful not to run these little guys over as they blend in well with sand, etc. You dont wanna be the asshole speeding over the sand who runs over plovers, the rangers are VERY intense about this, as they should be.

Huh? Where??? None of the ORV beaches are "closed for the season" on the Cape...Most/all are "Restricted" to 1 mile or less currently due to Piping Plovers.

Sandy Neck is .8 of a mile today...maybe they saw your CT plate & told you it was closed?
I live here and get notifications from town as to Sandy Neck Beach status as it changes, as I am out on it every week. It is NOT "closed until August" - "restricted", probably until plovers nesting, etc. ceases, but NOT closed.
