I got my jeep late last summer, what Cape Cod beaches are available to cruise on ?

I love those white spoke wheels, they really stand on with that color. Some of the beaches are Nauset, Sandy Neck in W. Barnstable, access off 6A. There are great beaches in the Provincetown area, Race Point. All the beaches are affected by the Piping Plover during hatching season. A lot of the beaches can be shut down or at least certain areas closed because of the little birds. I like the outer Cape beaches.

I moved here at the end of last year so didn’t get to go out

I am currently getting all the things on the “ORV check list” and then will be buying the permit.

How strict are they do I have to bring it all every time ?

how low do you air down to? And do they have air on your way back out? And can you bring your dog out with you year round ?

would love to meet up one weekend

15psi should be good for the beach

Race Point, Sandy Neck, and Nauset have air stations but are not always open year round so check during off season. The smaller spots, like High Head, don't have facilities so having a compressor is nice.

When I first got my permit the ranger told me, "We don't check your Jeep to make sure you have all required gear, but I wouldn't want to be the guy who doesn't have the required things if we need to come help you!" YES, I have ALL required items on board at ALL times. And, YES there is an air station with several hookups to air up when leaving, and, YES, you can bring your dog all year round, must be leashed except while in Cape Cod Bay...Note that it is not uncommon for Sandy Neck ORV to be restricted to 1+ mile come July/August due to piping plovers nesting etc...also speed limit STRICTLY enforced to 5 mph at that time...other times, 15 mph... Here's a picture from Christmas Day this year at path #6, as far as you can drive out...

Not sure what town you are in, but "non-resident" fees for annual ORV pass are: Sandy Neck - $220; Nauset - $386, and regardless of town Nat'l Seashore/Race Point $150 annual ORV, $50 / 7-day ORV

I don't think there are any you can cruise on without a permit. Cape cod national seashore is one of the least expensive.

Race Point is strict…you need everything on the website you go down on the day permits are issued they check your vehicle and gear and they put the sticker on your jeep…they have patrols and issue tickets if you don’t have permit

You need an oversand sticker for the putter beach. It is available through Orleans and you can access via Nauset beach in Orleans to go south to Chatham or the north beach but less driving.

It’s been a long time since I’ve gone but I think it’s 25psi and they have an air station when returning. I don’t know what you mean by strict? It’s a sticker for the windshield and you should always have your kit. They have police patrol.

I forgot about the dog part…I used to go out specifically to run my dogs since most of the beaches are no dogs in the summer. There might be a rule about leashes but I only leashed them if it was busy.
