Badge Engineering at it's finest. This makes no sense to do. Ram Trucks are not selling that well. there's still 2023 and 2024s sitting on lots.

Stellantis
  • The 2025 Jeep Gladiator lineup adds a limited-run Big Bear Edition, but it's only sold in California.
  • The Big Bear trim adds 32-inch mud-terrain tires, rock rails, a body-colored hard top, and unique badging.
  • The Gladiator Big Bear Edition is limited to 5000 units, with a starting price of $48,085.
While the palm-lined streets of Los Angeles attract starry-eyed hopefuls with glitz and glamour, it’s easy to forget that California is also the national park capital of the country. The Golden State has a lot to offer outdoor aficionados, and Jeep is celebrating that with a new Cali-exclusive Big Bear limited-edition trim for the 2025 Jeep Gladiator pickup truck.
The Big Bear is based on the well-equipped Jeep Gladiator Sport S trim level and adds a handful of rugged accessories and grizzly-themed iconography. When the going gets mucky, the Big Bear is equipped with black 17-inch wheels wrapped in 32-inch mud-terrain tires. Steel rock rails protect the vehicle’s underside against hidden hazards, while a color-matched removable hard top shields passengers’ upper bodies from overhead threats.

The Big Bear Gladiator also adds a couple of interior niceties, including a heated steering wheel, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and heated leather seats. For some unique visual flair, the Big Bear references the California state flag with special tailgate badging and “grizzly” emblazoned on the hood over the front wheel arches.
All 5000 units of the Gladiator Big Bear Edition will be sold exclusively within California for a starting price of $48,085–$4490 more than the Gladiator Sport S trim on which it’s based. While the Big Bear might not be significantly different from other Gladiator models, Jeep fans living in California might appreciate the exclusive treatment.

Jeep needs to stick with jeeps…let Ram do the Ram thing. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

If the current gladiator was a full size truck, I might think an HD was a good idea

Now, a current gladiator that is up there with the 1/2 and 3/4 ton trucks, with a V8 (or good diesel, maybe a 4 cyl version of the 6 cyl Cummins) and rear Dana 60 and a healthy GCWR would be interesting.
