The 2,0 T sure does run hot, oil temps 190s, coolant 212. Trans fluid temps high as well, 180s.
And that's with ambient air temps in the 50s, not working hard ,rpms under 2000.
Synthetic fluids will have to perform well, fingers crossed
Not sure I would categorize that are really hot. My other vehicles, 2012 Ram and 2008 Corvette, run around the same temps. The Vette's oil will exceed 200 if I drive it a little spirited.

I see from later posts than my original that temps are higher than the " old days" , when 212 was boiling. Higher pressures, synthetic lubricants allow these to run hot, avoid carbon and sludge build up, especially on DI engines, like the 2.0T. Old School here...

These days with temps in Las Vegas in mid 80s, my 2.0L barely goes over 200℉ on oil temperature. Even after 10 - 12 miles of driving on the highway or streets.
Is it not necessary to touch at least 212℉ for a few minutes to boil off moisture?

Coolant systems are designed to run at a certain positive pressure. I've seen as low as 3psi and as high as 12 psi. The higher the pressure, the higher the boiling point. Boiling coolant is a bad thing, as it introduces steam pockets to form in the system. This steam will be at pressures that may exceed the limits of some components in the system.

Conversely, if this same liquid was put into a deep enough negative pressure, it would boil at room temperature.
