Just got my 2023 JLU and within the past week and a half I’ve been hearing a rattling noise in the back cargo area. It seems like every day it’s getting worse and I’ve been trying to pin point what the cause is. I can hear this rattling noise whenever I go over bumps or uneven road. I was wondering if anyone knows what could be causing this.
This is what I’ve tried already after extensively searching the forum:
This is what I’ve tried already after extensively searching the forum:
- Taken out all items in the cargo area including the plastic piece that holds the bolts for the doors/hardtop, as well as the Jack that is underneath it.
- Adjusting the latch on the inside of the jeep that holds the tailgate closed as well as placing electrical tape on both latches.
- Placing 3M Tape on the part of the tailgate where the rear window meets it.
- Sitting in the rear while someone else drives the Jeep. I couldn’t pinpoint where the noise was coming from only that it was coming from the cargo area and potentially from the right side.
- Keeping the rear passenger cup holder down while driving.
