I’m special ordering a new Rubicon and specifically not getting the LED light package. I plan on replacing my tail lights with some thing else And my fog lights will be removed with a new study bumper. I am also not ready to install any light bar or auxiliary lights for the time being.

in the meantime I want to replace the stock headlights with a higher end LED headlight. Thinking JW speaker just because it’s the only ones I know of. I’d like a nice powerful headlight that is as good as her better than the Mopar LEDs I have now in my JK. I’m actually not that interested in any sort of Bluetooth controls party lights or anything fancy like that. I just want a really good pair of headlights that will give me significant light on the trail at night when needed. These new headlights need to be able to be angled down using the factory controls on the JL. Thanks for any suggestions.

Being in The Northeast I would wait for a Heated LED option to become available for the JL. Quadratec is working on it, I’m sure others are too. Currently they offer a heated LED meant for the JK with a bezel to make it fit the JL but a full sized JL offering should be coming soon.

Thanks I was thinking about this. I mostly plan to use this during the warm months BUT...can't hurt to have it incase I get silly and go winter wheeling sometime in the future.

Dan, if you don’t want to go Mopar OEM, the Oracle Oculus bi LED headlights are fantastic I ran a set for a few days then my wife ended up getting me Mopar ones for Christmas and I switched them out, I will say having used both within a matter of a few days of each other, I found the Oracle brand probably a little superior as far as light output and sharp cutoff lines... they are an actual 9” light that fits right into the factory mounting points, no flash required just plug and play, plus you get a halo DRl to boot that runs off a fuse tap...

The OEM package is the way to go. It cost more to outfit after the fact if using quality products. Plus most of the tail light options suck.

The Oracle Smoked/Blacked out ones I got were $250. In sun light you can’t see the brake lights when engaged. Sorta not safe.

The $350 Raxiom I got to replace those have minor blemishes to each cover. Same spot on both. Cosmetic but an eyesore.

By all accounts the MOPAR LED Package is a great deal.

The Oracle Oculus setup is the best option for LED headlights at this time. They have better output than the OEM Mopar ones, you don't have to do any reprogramming, and they are cheaper new than the Mopar ones are used.

I have them on my JLU 80th and while I won't say the light output is perfect - it's got a pretty defined hotspot at the expense of overall width - they are definitely the best performers i've seen for the JL.

By all accounts the MOPAR LED Package is a great deal.
Well that depends actually. In some cases it's true, but in my case it definitely was not. The OEM LED package would have cost $1895 on my JLU 80th, and I got it done for just over $800, and got better headlights too.

It seems to come down to which trim you are buying exactly.

I agree with the Oracle Oculus Bi-LED headlights. I installed them a few weeks ago to replace the stock halogen headlights and have been very impressed with them. Installation was a breeze, and as a bonus, I now have halo DRLs. Wiring for the halos was simple and very straight forward. And no flash or Tazer needed. Totally plug and play.

I will not have foglight on my rig and I am changing out the taillights to something else. So the LED package does not work for me. I'd one paying like $1400 for headlights
