Now here's the fun one. I've had my driver side door panel off for a minute now...
I want to replace the netting on there, because it's absolute trash! However I didn't want to spend 160 bucks for a metal replacement. So I've kept it off for a week now, and then Friday night I ordered this guy from Amazon.
$38 from Amazon, I thought they were cheap plastic, but they're actually cheap aluminum.
I figured out how to get the netting off of the door without just cutting it off. Not super complicated, but kind of annoying.
Just a little wire on the bottom, and two clips on either side.
Pretty self-explanatory up till here, use the trim to lock down the far upper right tab and the bass tab which I trimmed so it didn't have a bend in anymore.
Because it is aluminum I put some truck bed liner on the exposed metal from the holes I drilled into the tabs that didn't originally have holes and from the pieces of aluminum that I cut so there weren't any tabs getting in my way.
This top tab been a little bit when I screwed it in all the way, but not a huge problem.
I trimmed the three screws on the opposite side, and then I truck bed linered them as well so they wouldn't oxidize.
I put the panel back on the door, put the door back on the Jeep, and now we're having a good time!!
It sticks out quite a bit so I shouldn't have any trouble getting stuff into it, or out of it for that matter. I barely use that little area for anything other than trash or receipts which I throw away the second I get home anyways. But it's kind of nice. And it's patriotic even though it's probably made in China! But hey, what's more American than outsourcing!!
Now that I got the driver side done, it'll be a lot easier to get the wife's side completed. Honestly I don't think I'm even going to have to take the panel off of the door. Project for another day though on that one...

yes. No drill, appears to be like a sheet metal , they just tuck/slide right in. and yes to color match your jeep.

They’re not in the way but I know they are there… my leg winds up resting on it… but not an issue for me….
