Im curious about your single-point hoist set up. Not interested in the scale, but I’m trying to figure out the best way to make a DYI hoist in my two car garage with an 8 foot ceiling. Is it reinforced in the attic at all, or did you just mount it to a joist?

I mounted a piece of unistrut to the ceiling - spanning 3 or 4 joists - secured with heavy duty hex bolt screws. The hoist was secured to the unistrut. It's been solid ever since I installed. I'll try to capture some photos of the setup soon and post.
