Has anyone stored their hardtop leaning against the wall? I have limited space and was thinking of leaning it on the hard edge that’s toward the front of Jeep with the window side up. Does anyone see an issue with that?

nevermind....won't work

I hope you did not find out the hard way that the center-of-gravity of the hard-top is rearward of the back half of the side windows, which I didn't really think about until I took off my hard-top with a TopLiftPro.

I've currently got my hardtop perched on the TopLiftPro, and while I'm sure it'll be fine stowed like that, I live in earthquake country. So, I think I'm going to screw a giant hook in the wall and secure a ratchet strap around the hard-top, and take a few pounds off the TLP. I know in a big earthquake, everything's coming down...this is just insurance against smaller temblors.

I built a wood cradle with wheels that i bolt mine to. Once on it I can wheel it around wherever. The cradle has short legs to lift it up when I stand it up. The rear window needs to be tied down to keep it closed.... Tom

The crane is a long reach engine hoist for pulling engines from cars. It came from northern tool many years ago. I use it to pull engines from cars and boats. Fully extended its rated at 1.5 tons. Does the job...

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll have to get creative. Right now I have it in our extended garage but would love to keep it out of the way somehow.

I have mine laying against the wall with the window on the ground. I built a pvc frame that it sits on, then covered the pvc pipe in foam pipe insulation. I added a big a big foam sleeping pad it sits on as well. I have a soft top that I have on during the summer, so it will only be moved twice a year. I’ve only had my Jeep for three weeks, but it seems to be working well. When I take my soft top windows off, I put the rear window inside the hard top.

It's sitting on top of a 1 1/2" pvc frame that is covered in foam(you just can't see it)plus the foam padding you can see. It's very sturdy, it's not going anywhere. My soft top rear window is sitting on top of it.

thank you. This gives me some more ideas for storage. That takes up a lot less room than the way I have it sitting now.
